Synopsis of the pianist
Spellman (Adrien Brody) is a pianist at a Polish radio station. As World War II approached, the family was forced into the Warsaw ghetto. In the midst of the war, his family and relatives were eventually killed by the Nazis, and Spemann himself was humiliated and tortured, but he was lucky enough to get help from a friend and have a temporary hiding place. As the war raged, my friend had to leave him behind and return home to find a safe place to raise his children. At this time, Spellman was ill, but still had to flee the manhunt. In the attic of the ruins he met a German officer, who asked him to play the piano. The beautiful music made the German officer feel compassion, and he secretly helped Sputmann until the Soviet army’s liberation of Poland came… The film is based on the autobiographical novel “Dead City” by Polish pianist Wladyslaw Szpilman.
