Synopsis of the Imitation game
During World War II, the Allies were frustrated by the German secret system “Enigma” could not be decipsed, and the government called in a group of civilian mathematicians and logicians to work on the secret cracking work, and Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch) was one of them. At the beginning of the plan, Alan is rejected by the group and leaders led by Hugh (Matthew Goode), but fortunately, the Minister of Military Intelligence Menzies (Mark Strong) helps him to set up a research machine to break the code, and Alan becomes the person in charge. Recruiting a new member Joan (Keira Knightley) begins the hard work. Joan soon became fascinated with Turing, and thanks to her help in bringing the group together as never before, she succeeded in cracking the German code two years later. At one point Alan was engaged to Joan, but in fact he hid a secret for which he too suffered inhuman treatment…
The film is based on the biography of Alan Turing written by Andrew Hodges and won the Best Adapted Screenplay Award at the 87th Academy Awards.
