Brandon (played by Michael Fassbender) is a well-dressed white-collar worker in New York. He has a great love for adult movies, is accustomed to masturbating, and seeks out flowers and willows. However, his relationship with his sister Xixi (played by Carey Mulligan) has been fluctuating. Xixi always leaves him phone messages, but he always avoids them. However, when Xixi moved in with him, he showed special concern.
Brandon went to listen to Xixi’s singing with his boss, but he was moved by her charm while he was immersed in her singing and shed tears. In front of his sister, Brandon appeared indifferent, while his boss boldly pursued him. This made Brandon extremely ashamed. One day, after a video call with his family, his boss started scolding Brandon for stuffing adult movies into his computer hard drive, calling it a shame. Brandon, who was furious, got angry with his sister, which made her very sad.
Brandon once dated a black female secretary at a company, but found that what he really couldn’t let go of was not his sexual addiction, but the sibling relationship he was longing for in his heart
Michael Fassbender won the Best Actor award at the 68th Venice Film Festival for his performance in this film
