Synopsis of Schindler’s List
In 1939, Poland was under the rule of Nazi Germany, and the SS quarantined Jews. German businessman Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson) arrives in Krakow under German rule and opens an enamel factory to produce military supplies. With excellent social skills and a large amount of money, Schindler established good relations with the German army, employing Jews to work in his factories and making war money.
When the Jews of Krakow were massacred in 1943, Schindler was so shocked by what he witnessed that he bribed officers to let his factory become a slave camp attached to the concentration camp and a refuge for the Jews during those days of carnage.
In 1944, on the eve of Germany’s defeat, the killing of Jews became increasingly frenzied, and Schindler gave German officers a list of 1,200 people and bought the lives of these Jews at the cost of his fortune. In those dark days, to save one person is to save the whole world.
