Synopsis of perfume
In the 18th century, Jean-Maputiste Grenouille (Ben Whishaw) was born in one of the dirtiest and foulest parts of Paris – the fish market. Grenouille was born with an amazing talent for smells: he remembered them both foul and sweet, and could easily distinguish between them.
When he was orphaned by the abbot to the age of 13, he was sold to a cobbler by the abbot. Grenouille leads a miserable life in the leather shop. By chance, Grenouille showed his extraordinary talent in front of the perfume Baldini and entered the perfume shop. But Grenouille wasn’t just satisfied with making the world’s most fragrant perfume; he dreamed of learning how to preserve the scent of everything. Baldini told Grenouille that the perfume originated in Grasse, where the people knew how to preserve the scent. Grenouille came to Grasse with Baldini’s letter of recommendation.
Grenouille fell in love with the scent of a teenage girl’s body, and in order to preserve the scent, Grenouille eventually embarked on the path of a killer.
