Ten years after fighting an alien invasion and successfully sealing the wormhole, humanity rises from the ashes. They forget their fears and enjoy themselves, including General Steck Pantecost’s son Jack (John Boyega). In the process of stealing discarded Mecha parts, he accidentally encounters Amara (Cailee Spaeny), a teenage girl who assembles mini Mecha by herself. After that, under the arrangement of his sister Asako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi), Jack and Amalamo Yulan Base receive training as mech pilots. Meanwhile, the Shanghai-based Shaw Group, under the leadership of its president Shao Liwen (Jing Tian), is working on replacing traditional mechs with unmanned ones. At this critical moment, a black mech very similar to the vengeful Wanderer suddenly appeared and launched a merciless killing of humans.
It is discovered that distant alien “pioneers” are still on the move, waiting for the time to wipe out the Earth people…
