When I was only thirteen years old, in the late spring of 1941, the day I first met her, Mussolini declared war on England and France, and I got my first bicycle in life.

She, with her wavy black shiny hair, wearing the most fashionable short skirt and stockings, and stepping on high heels full of sexual temptation, arrived at the peaceful sunny town on the island of Sicily. Her every move is eye-catching and intriguing, her every frown and smile makes men intoxicated and women envious. Marina, like a goddess, conquered this seaside paradise.

Renado, who was only thirteen years old, couldn’t help but fall into the vortex stirred up by Marina. He not only rode his bike with other older teenagers, shuttling through various corners of the town, searching for Marina’s alluring beauty and diverse charm, but also quietly became her unaware little follower, closely following and observing her life. Her swaying figure, the music she listens to, and the clothes she wears close to her body have all become the most real and beautiful fantasies of this hormone drenched youth.

However, through Renato’s eyes, we also saw that Marina had fallen into an increasingly dark situation, becoming a widow. In the eyes of the townspeople, she had also become a true scourge, bringing lust, jealousy, and anger. A storm mixed with lust and anger began to sweep through this small town that had not even been invaded by war.

Marina gradually sank, cutting off ties with her father, being sent to court, and losing all her property. This forced Renato, who had always been naive and inexperienced, to face the cruelty and ruthlessness of the people in this simple town. Looking at Marina, who had nothing left, Renato summoned up the courage he had never had before and decided to rely on his own strength to help her get out of the quagmire of life in an unimaginable way
