An untouchable synopsis
Because of a skydiving accident, white millionaire Philippe Philippe (Francois Cluzet) is paralyzed in bed and wants to recruit a full-time escort. Because the salary is high, the applicants are gathered, all of them are eloquent, but they cannot impress his heart. It wasn’t until the appearance of Driss (Omar Sy), a black man, that he made his decision. Deshis was fresh out of prison, burdened with a family, looking for a resignation letter to claim benefits, and clearly more interested in the female assistant than the job. But Philip caught sight of the young man. So Deshis began a month-long trial period. Despite the vanity of his comfortable mansion, he still faced many challenges: not only did he have to rehabilitate Philip, but he also had to bathe him, give him enemas, open letters, and put on stockings. At first, their way of thinking and values are very different, but as they get to know each other more deeply, they become friends.
Based on true events, the film won the Golden Kirin Award for Best Film at the 2011 Tokyo Film Festival, with Francois Kreuse and Omar Sy sharing the Best Actor crown.
