Synopsis of the Valley of the Wind
The high development of industrial civilization eventually brought disaster, and a 7-day Zerg destruction war destroyed human civilization. A thousand years later, the legacy of industrial civilization still haunts the planet. The highly toxic plants make up the daunting “sea of rot” forest, which over time methodically spreads around and eats away at the surrounding world. Next to a rotten sea forest, there lived a group of people who rode on the wind. The heroine Nausica and her people rely on the power of the sea breeze to resist the erosion of toxic spores and live a peaceful life.
Until one day, the war came here. The Western power Trome wanted to re-establish human supremacy, and they planned to unite the surrounding nations and then launch a general attack on the Zerg. On the other hand, the ancient monster “monster” that led to the destruction of mankind a thousand years ago has returned to the world. What will be the fate of mankind when a war of destruction breaks out?
Based on Hayao Miyazaki’s manga of the same name, the film won the 1985 Rome Fantasy Film Festival Award for Best Picture, the 1985 Film Junpo Award for Best Picture, and the 1985 Mainichi Film Noburoo Award for Best Picture.
