Rashomon’s plot introduction
Rashomon, the south gate of Kyoto, Japan. The Yunyou monk, the woodcutter and the beggar take shelter under the city gate, and the three chat, the topic begins, and the story begins: a warrior and his wife pass by the desert mountain, and encounter an accident. Wives are insulted and warriors are killed. How did the tragedy happen? The murderer, the wife, the witch who used the ghost of the warrior as evidence, all had their own story.
There is only one truth, but the purpose of each person’s testimony is different. In order to beautify their morals, alleviate their SINS, and cover up their faults, everyone begins to recount a version of their story that beautifies them. The tragedy on the barren mountain became an indelible mist.
After talking, the rain cleared up. Woodcutters found a crying abandoned baby by Rashomon. He decided to adopt the baby and walked off into the sunset.
