A synopsis of Becoming Jane Austen
Was Jane Austen’s (Anne Hathaway) life as full of twists and turns and happy endings as her words? “Becoming Jane” is a biographical account of her life: her mother tried to arrange a marriage for her, with a wealthy member of the upper class. But Jane does not accept the marriage without love, and believes that women should rely on their own ability to support themselves. As a result, she rejects the proposal of the nobleman Mr. Vasley and falls in love with the psychic Tom Lefroy (James McAvoy).
A lot of good things, some people from the obstruction, resulting in Tom’s family does not approve of the two people’s marriage, Tom decided to elope with Jane. But then Tom’s financial resources would be cut off, and Jane would face worldly pressures and a life of poverty. How far will the two go on their elopement? Will there be a happy ending?
