Recall the plot introduction of the building block house
Like the end of the world, the flood swept the earth, and the world became a vast ocean, empty and lonely. An old man lives alone in this world, or leans on the railing, or watches TV to pass the time, few people with whom to communicate. The water level continues to rise, the old man can only continue to build the house, like a pile of building blocks, the house is like a giant tower standing in the deep sea. When moving furniture, the old man’s pipe accidentally fell into the water, and fell down the channel between the layers. The pipe has memories he shares with his wife, and the old man decides to dive to retrieve the pipe, but the act seems to open the floodgates of memories, and memories keep coming back. The old man could not help himself, sinking layer by layer, looking for those precious memories that had already sunk to the bottom of the sea…
The film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2009.
